Background to Preload Technologies and highlighted the high frequency of dropped objects resulting from bolted joint failures. Preload Technologies have now developed SmartBolts – an innovative concept where standards bolt incorporate a micro-indicator that reacts to bolt elongation to indicate loss of preload.
